There have been a number of noteworthy enhancements added to PrivacyPro since August. Please let us know if you have any questions about any of these new features:

Privacy and Security Incident Tracking

  • For Privacy cases, you can now specify which fields must be completed before the case can be closed.
  • You can now copy Privacy cases to Security and visa versa. You can also maintain links between related Privacy and Security cases.
  • Action Item notes now retain formatting (tabs, new-lines, etc)
  • A new date sorting option is available for the Privacy & Security Details Report
  • Department filters were added to Privacy and Security Summary Report
  • Data downloads now accommodate up to 3 responsible persons on the main download worksheet
  • The DOB field is now available as a standard patient identifier
  • Standard state breach rules and action items are automatically updated at all customer sites. REMINDER: state breach must be enabled under Privacy Incident Admin for it to appear with your privacy cases. Contact CompliancePro Support for assistance in doing this and setting up the State Breach feature for your site.

Amendments, Restrictions, and Other Issues

  • Standard summary and data download reports are now available for Amendments, Restrictions, and Other Issues

Administrative Enhancements

  • There is a new option to email new users their login information or to email existing users after their password is reset
  • You can now identify “test” facilities and have cases associated with them excluded from reporting and data downloads
  • You can now make facilities “Inactive” so they cannot be assigned new cases but remain in the system for historical reporting purposes.
  • A new option is available to control whether users with Assigned permission to a case can access the case after it is closed
  • You can now identify a local site support contact under Admin / Site Info, which appears at the top of the PrivacyPro Help

CompliancePro Library Updates

  • A new document ‘Meaningful Use Stage 3 Objective 1 SRA and Encryption Summary’ has been created in the ‘Security Statutes and Rules" folder, to highlight the requirements related to the Security Rule related to SRA and encryption.
  • Updated job descriptions in 125s (Security Officer Job Description), 126s (Combined Security & Privacy Officer) 35s (Privacy Officer Job Description), 35a (BA) with AHIMA materials.
  • Updated SRA and PRA policies (1s & 1sa) to mention that annual review is encouraged and to incorporate Meaningful Use Stage 3 rules
  • The following state breach laws were updated - Nevada, Wyoming, Washington State, North Dakota, Montana, and Oregon, Connecticut, California, Rhode Island.
